Advocating for Accessible, Independent Paths to Education

I am a dually certified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), specialized in constructing individual educational access paths. Operating as an itinerant educator and specialized consultant, my career is anchored on a single mission: driving authentic classroom access and structural independence for students with diverse visual backgrounds.

My work bridges complex diagnostic data with daily instructional support. By conducting systematic Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA), I ensure every student has custom-tailored media access—ranging from Unified English Braille (UEB) literacy grids to highly complex magnification tools. Out on the routes, I equip individuals with the spatial orientation mechanics and long-cane techniques necessary to navigate campuses and public communities safely and confidently.

Beyond direct instruction, I work extensively on systems-level infrastructure. As an educational consultant and assistive technology advocate, I present specialized strategies on national stages and engineer digital resource hubs for practitioners and families. I am deeply committed to eliminating digital barriers through rigorous document remediation, empowering general education teams, and designing accessible tools that help students with disabilities build independent, self-determined futures.
